Website terms of use
Last updated 15 September 2026
These terms cover this website — the pages at mechconnect.com.au that anyone can read. They are short because the site is simple: it tells you what MechConnect is and lets you hear it. They are not the terms of the service itself. If you subscribe, the terms of service are what you agree to, and where these two say different things about your subscription, those win.
1. Who runs this site
This website is run by MechConnect Pty Ltd, trading as MechConnect. Our details are in section 10. By using the site you accept these terms; if you don't accept them, the remedy is simply not to use it.
2. What the site is for
The site describes a phone-answering service for mobile mechanics, shows what it costs, and lets you listen to the voices we can staff a line with. Everything on it is general information about the service. It is not advice tailored to your business, and reading it does not create a subscription or any other agreement between us — that happens only when you sign up under the terms of service.
We try to keep what the site says accurate and current, and we correct it when we find it isn't. Where a page and the terms of service differ about what the service does or costs, the terms of service are right.
3. What you may do here
Read it, share links to it, and quote reasonably from it with attribution. Play the voice samples as often as you like.
Automated access is fine too, on the terms our robots.txt sets out. That file is the whole of our policy on crawling and it is deliberately permissive.
4. What you may not do
- Copy the site, or a substantial part of it, to present as your own or to build a competing site from.
- Use the voice samples for anything other than listening. In particular, don't extract, clone, or train a voice or speech model on them, and don't use them in your own product, advertisement or recording.
- Interfere with the site: probe it for weaknesses, attempt to get past the sign-in, load it in a way designed to degrade it, or introduce anything malicious. If you find a genuine security problem, we would much rather hear about it — email support@mechconnect.com.au and we will take it seriously.
- Frame the site or present it under another name so that it appears to be something other than ours.
- Use it for anything unlawful.
5. What's ours, and what isn't
The words, design, images, code and voice samples on this site belong to us or are used with permission, and copyright in them is ours. The MechConnect name and mark are our trade marks, whether or not registered, and you may not use them without our written agreement other than to refer to us accurately.
Some other names and marks appear on the site: Telnyx and FreeSWITCH are trade marks of their respective owners, shown to say what the service runs on. They belong to those owners, not to us, and their appearance here does not mean those companies endorse MechConnect or have any involvement with it beyond providing what they provide.
6. The sign-in, and links away from here
The "Sign in" link goes to the MechConnect console, which is a separate, signed-in service for subscribers. Your use of the console is governed by the terms of service, not these terms.
Other than that, the site links nowhere but to our own email addresses. If that ever changes, a link to another site is a convenience, not a recommendation, and we are not responsible for what is there.
7. Your privacy on this site
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or trackers; the privacy policy says so and says what the signed-in console does differently. If you email us from a link on the site, the policy covers what we do with that too.
8. What we don't promise, and what we can't exclude
The site is provided as it is. We don't promise it will always be available, always be free of errors, or suit any particular purpose, and we may change or take down any part of it without notice.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of the site or from relying on anything on it. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where our liability can be limited under that law, it is limited to resupplying the relevant content or paying the cost of having it resupplied.
9. Changes, and the law that applies
We may change these terms by publishing a new version here, with a new date at the top. Using the site after that means you accept the new version.
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and the courts there have jurisdiction. If a court finds one part unenforceable, the rest still stands.
